NATCHEZ — Senior citizens in Adams County will soon be able to get H1N1, or swine flu, vaccinations fast and free.

The Southwest Public Health District is having a “Fast Lane” event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at the Adams County Health Department located on 415 U.S. 61 North, where the vaccination will be available, free of charge, without a wait time.

Dr. Thomas Dobbs, Southwest District health officer, said they want to treat as many people as possible with the least amount of inconvenience.

“We are still seeing Novel H1N1 in the community, and there is a continuing concern that we will see a third wave,” Dobbs said. “We anticipate that over the next month or two would be the time to worry about (the third wave).”

Dobbs said while the drive is targeting senior citizens, anyone is welcome to come.

Free custommade Valentine’s Day T-shirts will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
