Winter weather closings: Schools cancel classes today

Schools:

Adams County Christian School will be closed Friday.

Cathedral School will be closed Friday

Natchez-Adams School District classes and offices will be closed Friday

All Thursday evening classes and Friday classes at Copiah-Lincoln Community College Natchez Campus and Wesson have been canceled.

All Friday classes at Louisiana Technical College Shelby M. Jackson Campus have been canceled.

Officials with the Concordia Parish School District said that all parish public schools will be closed Friday. Huntington School will also be closed.

Alcorn State University has closed all of its campuses for Friday.

Trinity Episcopal Day School will be closed Friday.

Wilkinson County Christian Academy will be closed Friday.

Catahoula Parish schools and offices will be closed Friday.

Events:

The Concordia Parish School Board meeting scheduled for Thursday night has been canceled.

The Delta Music Museum’s annual membership drive at the Arcade Theater scheduled for Thursday night has been canceled.

The Grand Village of the Natchez Indians will still have its scheduled speaker at 6:30 tonight. The event is not canceled.

The Region 7-1A basketball tournament in Vicksburg has been pushed back two days. Tonight’s games will now be played on Saturday while Friday’s scheduled games will take place on Monday. Cathedral’s boys will play Sebastopol at 3:30 p.m. Saturday in the semifinals while Cathedral’s girls will play West Lincoln at 5 p.m.

The Region 7-3A basketball tournament at Franklin County has also been pushed back two days, with tonight’s games taking place Saturday and Saturday’s games being pushed back to Monday.

The Region 6-6A basketball tournament at Natchez High School was postponed until Saturday. The Lady Bulldogs will face Terry in the championship game at 4 p.m. Saturday, while the boys will take on Wingfield at 5:30 p.m. in their championship match. Natchez High School will honor its senior players for Senior Night, with the ceremony beginning in the Natchez High School gymnasium at 3 p.m.
