MANY, La. — A memorial funeral Mass for Andrew Sherman “Drew” Decell, 52, of Many, La., who died Friday, Feb. 12, 2010, at Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport, La., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at St. George Catholic Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Rose-Neath Many Chapel.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time Thursday at the church.

A funeral Mass celebration was Monday, Feb. 15, 2010, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the Rev. Timothy Hurd officiating.

Mr. Decell was born Jan. 23, 1958, in Natchez, and was a resident of Many, La. Drew grew up in Baton Rouge. He attended Nicholls State and received his bachelor of science degree from USL. He was a most valued employee of ITW Signode.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph “Mickey” Decell.

Survivors include his wife, Kay Thompson Decell; his mother and stepfather; five brothers, including Ralph Decell of Lafayette; a number of nieces and nephews that he adored, including Jenny Istre and husband, Brandon, and Ryan Decell; a number of great-nieces and great-nephews; and his beloved four-legged daughter, Sadie Belle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations preferred to a charity of choice.
