Thanks to Ed Field for his letter about the lack of enforcement of the handicapped parking laws.

He suggested calling the police when we see violators. I see them all the time at Walmart and the post office.

The number is 601-445-5565. I’ll keep it handy.

I know the police have important responsibilities, but it wouldn’t take much time or effort for one of their cars to make an occasional  pass through both locations and pass out a few tickets.

It wouldn’t take long for the word to get out especially if The Democrat published the results.

The Democrat might also check the police records to see how many tickets for handicapped parking violations had been issued in, say, the last month.

It wouldn’t surprise me if the number is zero.
