VIDALIA — Services for Evelyn Johnson Arrington, 79, of Vidalia, who died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Triumph Baptist Church, Concordia Park, with the Rev. Doug Logan officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.
Visitation will be from 4:30 to 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Arrington was born Dec. 30, 1930, in Vidalia, the daughter of Sonnie and Luetisher Gaines Johnson. She was a retired nurse’s assistant. She was a member of Triumph Baptist Church where she served as a choir member and church secretary. She was also a member of Rosewood Order Eastern Star Chapter of Vidalia.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband, William H. “Buddy” Arrington Sr.; four sons, Rickey Arrington and wife, Deidra, all of Vidalia, Malcolm Arrington and wife, Kim, of Atlanta, William Arrington Jr. and Kelvin Arrington and friend, Patrice, all of Houston, Texas; three daughters, Trudy Williams and husband, Robert, of Vidalia, Patricia Profice and husband, Carl, and Nada Riley and husband, Bernard, all of Natchez; three sisters, Rosie Stevens and husband, Willie, of Vidalia, Daisy Jones and husband, Leonard, of Kansas City, Mo., and Delores Williams and husband, Elijah, of Detroit; 16 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
