NATCHEZ — First, the Adams County Christian School versus Cathedral baseball games that were supposed to take place Monday night at Chester Willis Field were rained out.

Then the games between the same two schools that were scheduled to take place at ACCS’s David “Papa” New Baseball Field on Tuesday night were called off due to the unplayable field conditions caused by the nearly one inch of rain that fell between early Monday afternoon and early Tuesday morning.

Thankfully, the weather will be much better on Thursday when the Green Wave will take on the Rebels in a varsity doubleheader that will take place at ACCS. The first game starts at 4:30 p.m. and the second game will get under way at 6:30 p.m.

“We need some sunshine,” Lady Green Wave head coach Gary Blackwell said. “We’re ready to play.”

Wilkinson County Christian Academy was scheduled to host ASC today, but the JV and varsity games have been cancelled. Rams head coach Ray Olive said he doesn’t know if those games will be rescheduled.
