GLOSTER — Services for Huey P. Batteaste, 72, of Gloster, who died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Mississippi National Guard Armory in Gloster.

Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gloster under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time Saturday at the armory.

Mr. Batteaste was born Nov. 5, 1937, in Wilkinson County, the son of Rayford and Amy Batteaste.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and seven brothers.

Survivors include a loving and devoted wife, Mary G. Batteaste; three daughters, Felicia Batteaste, Iesha Batteaste and Brianna Batteaste, all of Durham, N.C.; three sons, Shandy Batteaste of Palm Dessert, Calif., Huey Eric Batteaste of Columbus, Ga., and Alcon Nelson of San Antonio, Texas; one sister, Norvell Brengettsy of Gloster; four granddaughters, Courtney Smith, Keshauna Parker, Tameka Melvin and Miah Hawkins; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
