We CAN do it drive was true blessing

All of us here at Feed The Hungry and Vidalia First Assembly of God wish to express our deep appreciation to the Miss-Lou.

The “We CAN do it” food drive was such a success. I’ve never seen anything like it before. At times we were overwhelmed at the generosity of the Miss-Lou. We are so very grateful to be recognized as a local charity for the Miss-Lou and surrounding areas.

Our heartfelt thanks go out to Julie Cooper and al the rest of the staff at The Natchez Democrat for coordinating this food drive. They worked tirelessly to pick up these items and then transport them to us. For that, we are forever grateful.

In all 7,769 items were collected and given to Feed The Hungry.

Since Feed The Hungry started in February 1997, we have worked hard in our community to help those who are in need of our services. And it is because of caring people, like those in the Miss-Lou, that we are the success we are today.

Also, we would like to thank the following for all their hard work collecting the canned food items that were delivered to us: Delta Sigma Theta, Cliff Temple Baptist Church GAs; West Primary School; Immanuel Baptist Church; Concordia Bank, Vidalia; First Baptist Church, GAs, Natchez; Stine Lumber; Washington Baptist Church; Britton & Koontz Bank; Copiah-Lincoln Community College; First Presbyterian Church Play School; and Natchez Trace Kiwanis Club.

Where children are involved, please tell them how very much we truly appreciate them for their caring and compassionate hearts.

Thanks again for all you’ve done. We truly appreciate each and everyone of you.

Linda Bonnette is the director for Feed The Hungry.
