NATCHEZ — Services for Sarah Ann Chatman, 54, of Natchez, who died Monday, March 22, 2010, at Park West Hospital in Knoxville, Tenn., will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fourth Street Church of Christ with Bro. Dwight Greene officiating.

Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in Natchez under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Chatman was born June 20, 1955, in Natchez, the daughter of Johnnie and Hattie Chatman Evans. She was a member of Fourth Street Church of Christ. She was also a U.S. veteran who honorably served in the U.S. Army for six years.

Mrs. Chatman was a 1974 graduate of South Natchez High School; a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi; was employed by Delta State University day care; and operated her own day care at Fourth Street Church of Christ.

She loved to read, shop and spend time with her family and was an avid animal lover. She was the pet-parent to her special baby, her yorkie terrier, Prince.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Henry and Mary Chatman; one aunt, Carolyn Nichols; one brother, Ron H. Williams; and grandson, Dominique Maurice Chatman.

Survivors include her parents; two daughters, LaRhonda S. Chatman, all of Natchez, LaDonna R. Chatman of Oakridge, Tenn.; one son, Cione R. E. Chatman; two grandsons, Nia Chatman of Natchez and Timothy Johnson Jr. of Oakridge; two granddaughters, Paris D. Reese of Pleasant Grove, Ala., and Amyah White of Natchez; four sisters, Darlene B. Williams, Marie Johnson and husband, Wilsoni, Sherry Myles and Kimberly Bingham; one brother, Tony Newborne and wife, Judy, all of Natchez, 10 aunts, Sarah C. Isaac of Chicago, Mary C. Profice and husband, James, Ann C. Cobb, Mildred Chatman, Delores Chatman and Yvonne Chatman, all of Natchez, Shirley C. Smith and husband, Kenneth, of Cleveland, Ruthie G. Green and husband, Mihon, Marva Green and Myrtis G. Fleming, all of Natchez; six uncles, Isaac Chatman and wife, Ann, of Dolton, Ill., Willie Chatman Sr. of Chicago, Adolph Green and wife, Delores, Ray Green, Kenneth W. Green and Robert E. Green; two nieces, Ashley Myles, all of Natchez, and Erica Johnson and husband, Vince, of Atlanta; three nephews, Xavier Williams, Ryheem Clark and Demond Clark, all of Natchez; three special great-nieces, Tyra and Jamira Williams and Danielle J. Johnson; one special nephew, Jayden C. Johnson, all of Atlanta; and a number of other relatives and friends.
