FERRIDAY — Police, sheriff’s deputies and Louisiana State Police were on the scene of a crime on Alabama Avenue late Saturday night.
Authorities would not provide details at the scene, but bystanders reported that a man sitting in his vehicle had been shot and killed.
A car on the street in front of a house, near the intersection with Seventh Street, appeared to have busted out windows. Sheets were draped over the car windows, and a hearse arrived just before midnight.
Ferriday Police, State Police and Concordia Parish Sheriff’s deputies remained on the scene at 11:45 p.m. Ambulances were also still parked in the area.
A large crowd, approximately 100 people, had gathered at the scene just before 11 p.m. Authorities cleared the crowded street prior to midnight.
