NATCHEZ — Metro Narcotics agents arrested three women for selling prescription drugs Wednesday afternoon.

Metro Narcotics Commander David Lindsey said agents conducted an undercover operation on Angela R. Blanton, someone they had been looking at for several weeks as a major area prescription drug dealer.

“Blanton uses other people’s pills and pays them some of the money she makes off of the sales,” Lindsey said. “We made contact with (Tosha L.) Roberts, who contacted Blanton and they met us at the location.”

Blanton was using Virginia L. Perry’s pills for the sale, and Perry drove Blanton to the location, a local restaurant, Lindsey said.

Agents purchased approximately $500 worth of Lorcet and Xanax from the trio, approximately 144 pills.

“When we were attempting to arrest Blanton, she was flushing more pills down the toilet at the restaurant, along with the Metro buy money,” Lindsey said.

Blanton, 40, 135 Lewis Drive Apt. 30; Perry, 36, 121 Daisy St.; and Roberts, 30, 117 Clark Drive, Vidalia, were all arrested on charges of sale of a schedule III controlled substance (Lorcet) and a schedule IV controlled substance (Xanax).

The women are being held without bond at the Adams County Sheriff’s Office Jail.
