NATCHEZ — Services for Annie Mae Thompson, 71, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Sinai Baptist Church with the Rev. James Brooks officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. today with family hours from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Saturday at the church.
Mrs. Thompson was born July 1, 1938, in Sibley, the daughter of Phillip Thompson and Rosie Lee Lyles Thompson. She was employed by Natchez Regional Medical Center as a dietary aide. She retired after 30 years of service.
Mrs. Thompson was a member of Mount Sinai Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers, Richard Thompson, Nathaniel Reynolds, Bennie Thompson and Willie James Thompson; and one sister, Hannah Thompson.
Survivors include five children, Willie Lee Thompson and wife, Melinda, of Vidalia, Benny James Thompson of Shreveport, La., Ruby Thompson McNealy of Memphis, Tenn., Annie Thompson and Brenda Faye Thompson, both of Natchez; five grandchildren, Nakarrie Thompson and wife, Phiet, Shanisha Thompson, Monica Thompson, Jasmine McNealy and Darnell McNealy Jr., all of Memphis; three great-grandchildren, Casey Thompson of Natchez, Nakarrie Thompson Jr. and Ny’Ema Thompson, both of Memphis; three sisters, Vera Saul, Dorothy Johnson and husband, Isaac, and Virginia Rounds of Natchez; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Pallbearers will be friends of the family.
