NATCHEZ — Services for Luella C. Pettis, 84, of Natchez, who died Sunday, April 11, 2010, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church with the Rev. Lloyd Bailey officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Mark No. 2 Baptist Church Cemetery in Kingston under the direction of George F. West Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mrs. Pettis was born Feb. 16, 1926, in Adams County, the daughter of Charles and Agnes Conner. She was a homemaker and a member of Grove African Methodist Episcopal Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Pettis Sr.; her parents; two children, Frankie Martin and Willie Holmes Sr.; five brothers; four sisters; one grandson; and one great-grandson.
Survivors include two daughters, Gina Pettis and Agnes McKnight; one son, Leroy Holmes; one special niece, Sharon Conner, all of Natchez; and two sisters, Leanna Shilkins of Baltimore, Md., and Carrie Conner of Natchez.
Pallbearers will be Anthony Givens, Timmy McKnight, Willie Holmes Jr., Jessie Ware, Neal Harris and Derrick Holmes.
