FAYETTE — Services for Mattie Lee Cadney, 96, of Jackson, who died Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Jefferson County High School in Fayette with the Rev. John O’Hallaran, SSJ, officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery in Harriston under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home in Fayette.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at St. Anne Catholic Church.
Mrs. Cadney was born July 8, 1913, in Jefferson County, the daughter of Anderson Smith and Annie B. Brown. She was a retired licensed practical nurse.
Mrs. Cadney was also a member of St. Anne Catholic Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clyde Cadney Sr.; two sons, Lee Rumbles, George Smith; and one daughter, Maxine Knight.
Survivors include three sons, Willie Smith Sr. of Asheville, N.C., Clyde Cadney Jr. of Fayette and Rudolph Cadney of Marietta, Ga.; six daughters, Dorine Brantley of Updyke, Ill., Mearl Williams, Pearl Allen and Leona Pickens, all of Jackson, Louise Coleman of Fayette and Wanzie Cadney of Mesquite, Texas; 33 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and a number of other relatives and friends.
