LIBERTY — A Roxie woman died Sunday in a one-vehicle car accident in Amite County.

Sonestra L. Williams, 22, of 161 Wells Creek St., was driving a 2002 Chevrolet Impala northbound on Mississippi 569 near Lower Centreville Road.

She lost control of the vehicle, ran off the left side of the highway and struck an embankment and post. The vehicle flipped several times, ejecting Williams.

She was pronounced dead at the scene. Her only passenger, Kedamion Carter, 2, 161 Wells Creek St., was transported to Field Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.

The accident occurred at 6:05 p.m.
