GLOSTER — A Gloster couple faces felony drug charges stemming from a weeklong prescription forgery and fraud investigation.

Darcy B. Bateman, 36, 3167 Hunters Lane, and wife Brandi Bateman, 34, are being held at the Amite County Jail on $5,000 bond each.

Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics Director Marshall Fisher said Monday a Mississippi Highway Patrol trooper arrested Darcy Bateman Friday. Darcy Bateman is charged with one count of obtaining a prescription by fraud.

Upon learning about her husband’s arrest, Brandi Bateman surrendered at the Amite County Sheriff’s Office. Brandi Bateman is charged with one count of prescription forgery.

Fisher said additional charges are expected.
