Fundraiser promises a yappy time

Good morning, Miss-Lou!

Fat Mama’s Tamale’s is hosting the first “Yappy Hour” to benefit the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society building fund from 5 to 8 Wednesday.

A $5 “cover charge” ($3 for kids) goes to the humane society as does a portion of all beer and margaritas sold.

Raffles will be held throughout the night. And the best part? You get to bring your furry friends.

The NACHS is very close to breaking ground on its new facility that is needed so badly.

Since the NACHS is a non-profit organization, it depends mainly on donations, membership dues, adoption fees and fund-raising activities to care for the needy animals that are brought there daily.

According to the NACHS Web site, on any given day, 250 to 300 animals occupy spaces designed to support 100. With fundraisers like Yappy Hour, their goal of building a new facility that can hold the many, many animals that are eager to be adopted will be reached in no time.

Besides, summer doesn’t get any better than live music, raffles from local businesses and ice cold margaritas.

A huge thanks to David Gammill, Sports Center, Just 4 You, One of a Kind, Theresa Mullins, Natchez Veterinary Clinic, Natchez Market, Kimbrell’s Office Supply, Miss-Lou Veterinary Clinic, Byrne Insurance, Kevin Whittington of State Farm Insurance, and the Krewe of Fat Mama’s for your time and generous donations.

Without you, Yappy Hour would still be just an idea.

Come get “Knocked Naked” for a great cause! Hope to see you there.
