Animal cruelty hurts families too

I know there are all kinds of bad things that happen in the world. We see these things on TV and read about them in the newspaper.

But until it happens to you, you just can’t imagine it.

My husband and I have had a tragedy. We have two Shih Tzus that stay inside our house or in our fenced-in yard, never bothering anyone.

But one week ago, someone fed one of our dogs something soaked in antifreeze. He is now fighting for his life.

How could someone be so cold-hearted to do this?

Did they ever stop to think that this little dog may belong to a child that would be heartbroken?

I know to some this may seem unimportant, but our animals are very important members of our family. Our other little dog is so sad; she looks for her brother everywhere.

I also have to try to explain to my grandchildren how someone could do this.

So whoever you are, I hope you are very proud of yourself.

Thanks to having such a wonderful, caring sheriff as Chuck Mayfield, we have talked with deputies to try to find out who did this terrible act. My husband and I are very grateful for the kind words from Chuck and his wonderful deputies.

If this person could harm an animal, could he do something horrible to a small child or an adult?

We live on Hammett Street in the Morgantown area.

We have two wonderful vets fighting with Bae Bae. Dr. Debbie and Dr. Veronica are fighting just as hard as Bae Bae is.

Thanks for reading our story. Hopefully no one else will have to ever go through this.

You know who you are, and several people in our neighborhood have expressed who they think did it as well.
