NATCHEZ — Emily Lane recently joined The Natchez Democrat staff as a reporter.

Lane earned her bachelor of science degree in journalism from the University of Alabama in 2008. She will receive her master’s degree in English from the University of New Orleans in August.

Prior to joining The Democrat, Lane worked as an intern for The Post and Courier in Charleston, S.C., where she was a writer for the newspaper’s niche publications and covered stories for the metro and features beats.

She has also worked for Where Y’at Magazine, an entertainment magazine in New Orleans.

Lane is a native of New Orleans.

At The Democrat, Lane will be the Adams County and education reporter.
