VIDALIA — Memorial services for Gerald “Jerry Wayne” Wilson, 51, of Vidalia, who died Friday, June 18, 2010, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Vidalia Riverpark-Riverwalk near the fountains.

Jeans and T-shirts preferred.

Jerry Wayne loved his mother, his work and his life. By trade he was a logger, putting his heart into his work and living his life to the fullest. His body was donated to science in hopes that through him others may be helped.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Grady Applegate; his stepfather, George Lester Wilson; and one brother, Terry Paul Applegate.

Survivors include his mother, Cynthia Anne Wilson; one uncle, Robert Alan Ford and wife, Kathy; four sisters, Marie Franklin and husband, Ronald, Christy Martin, Pam Roberts and Hope Wilson; three brothers, Mike Wilson, Larry Wilson and wife, Connie, and Jerry Wilson; two best friends, Jerry “Frog” Franklin and Barbara Faye Goodwin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
