Concordia 14s win pitcher’s duel

OAK GROVE, La. — The Concordia 14-year-old All-Stars were able to hold on for a 4-3 victory over East Ouachita in the district tournament Tuesday night.
William Anderson outdueled the East Ouachita pitcher, allowing just three runs as Concordia hung on for the victory.
The game was scoreless for the first three innings, but Concordia jumped out to a 1-0 lead with a run in the bottom of the fourth.
East Ouachita came right back to take the lead with two runs in the top of the fifth, but Concordia quickly answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth to take a 4-2 lead.
East Ouachita cut the lead in half with a run in the top of the sixth, but couldn’t complete the comeback and were held scoreless in the top of the seventh as Concordia hung on for the victory.
Lee Jackson, Ashton Holland and Hayden Cassell all had multiple hits for Concordia, which will face Sterlington at 5 p.m. today.
