NATCHEZ — Services for Mary Stewman Mitchell, 77, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, July 20, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Daughter of Zion Baptist Church with the Rev. D.W. Howard officiating.
Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of R.D. Mackel and Sons.
Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the church.
Mrs. Mitchell was born Nov. 5, 1932, in Wilkinson County, the daughter of Brist and Susie Smith Stewman.
She was a member of Daughter of Zion Baptist Church.
Mrs. Mitchell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Mitchell; two brothers, James Stewman Sr. and Leon Stewman Sr.; and one sister, Annie Mars.
Survivors include one daughter, Gloria J. Tucker and husband, Ben; three sons, Roosevelt “BO” Mitchell, Isaac “Sonnyman” Mitchell and wife, Annie, and Micheal “Mike” Mitchell and wife, Mokesba, all of Natchez; three brothers, Paul Stewman and wife, Ornsby, Eugene Stewman and Albert Stewman and wife, Vera, all of New Orleans; two sisters-in-law, Octavia Prater-Stewman and Mary B. Mitchell, both of Natchez; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, Sisters of the Order of Eastern Star and the Daughters of Samaritan.
