NATCHEZ — Services for Marilyn B. Slay, 74, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Aug. 11, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Parkway Baptist Church with the Rev. Bart Walker officiating.
Graveside services and burial will follow at 3 p.m. at East Haven Cemetery in Brookhaven under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the church.
Mrs. Slay was born Oct. 8, 1935, in Tylertown, the daughter of George Clayton Brown Sr. and Ila Walton Brown. She was a member of Parkway Baptist Church and the Women’s Mission Group. She was retired from International Paper Company. Mrs. Slay was a member of the Natchez Chapter of the D.A.R. and The Red Hat Society.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include one son, Steve Slay and wife, Melissa, of Brandon; two daughters, Sherry Brumfield and husband, Hank, of St. Francisville, La., and Deborah Walker and husband, Jeff, of Franklin, Tenn.; one brother, George C. Brown and wife, Judy, of Birmingham, Ala.; one sister, Jeanne B. Crasto of Ridgeland; eight grandchildren, Douglas Brumfield, Cody Brumfield, Victoria Slay, Ashley Richardson, Faith Walker, Kiersten Walker, Savanah Walker and Camille Walker; two nieces; and four nephews.
Pallbearers will be Douglas Brumfield, Cody Brumfield, John Gray, David Huber, James Nix and Roger Davis.
Honorary pallbearer will be Danny Freeman.
The family thanks Dr. Jack Rodriquez and his staff for their care and support.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Parkway Baptist Church Relay for Life Team.
