NATCHEZ — Services for Roberta Evans Logan, 85, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. Ernest Ford officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Mrs. Logan was born Jan. 28, 1925, in Adams County, the daughter of Orick Metcalf Evans Sr. and Esther Smith Evans. She was a member of Windy Hill No. 1 Missionary Baptist Church and served as a Mother of the church as well as a choir member. She was a housewife.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, the Rev. Walter Logan Sr.; one daughter, Patricia Logan; and one granddaughter.

Survivors include 11 children, the Rev. Walter Logan Jr. of Dallas, John Logan and wife, Flora, of Jonesville, Vivian D. Lewis of Sarasota, Fla., Violet Logan, Artimease Frazier and husband, Leonard, Faye D. Logan and Renee Logan, all of Natchez, the Rev. Douglas Logan and wife, Brenda, of Vidalia, Eva Regina Smith and husband, Jimmy, of Alcorn State, Alfred G. Logan of Houston, Texas, and Melvin Logan and wife, Kimmie, of Katy, Texas; one stepson, Walter Lee Mock and wife, Willamena, of Indiana; three sisters, Maggie Evans and Carrie Evans, both of Natchez, and Mary Flourney of Chicago; one brother, Wilbur Evans of Natchez; 34 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; an a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
