NATCHEZ — Services for Carrie Long Proby, 87, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat Baptist Church with the Rev. Walter Sago officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon until 5 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the church.

Mrs. Proby was born April 29, 1923, in Natchez, the daughter of Duncan and Anna Liza Long. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one son; and her husband.

Survivors include one son, Chris Proby; one niece, Frances Bland; one nephew, Aaron Parker, all of Natchez; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; a special cousin, Lyttia Johnson; best friend, Mary Profice; one daughter-in-law; and a number of other relatives and friends.
