VIDALIA — A Vidalia teenager missing since Saturday was located Monday night.
Tinitra “Tierra” Washington, 15, ran away from her grandmother’s residence after an argument took place Saturday.
The Concordia Parish Sheriff’s Office began a search for the girl by Monday, but according to CPSO Chief Detective Bobby Sheppard, the girl arrived at an aunt’s home in Ferriday around 6:45 p.m., and the aunt then immediately notified the sheriff’s office.
The teen’s grandmother, Joyce Velasquez, had notified the CPSO Saturday afternoon that the girl had left their residence on foot following a family argument Saturday morning.
Cassie Kraft, Washington’s cousin, said the teen got mad at her grandmother and took off after the argument.
“They had gotten into a disagreement and she was really upset,” Kraft said.
The teen currently lives with her grandmother, at 108 Ralph Road, Lot 24, in the Country Estate Trailer Park near Vidalia.
Washington was born in Natchez on Aug. 27, 1995.
She is currently attending Vidalia High School and is a sophomore.
