LIBERTY — An assistant coach for the Centreville Academy football team was arrested Monday by the Amite County Sheriff’s Office on charges of sexual battery.
Cori Britt, 36, of 133 Cloverdale Road in Natchez, is accused of having sexual relations with a female student at the school, according to an Amite County Sheriff’s Office press release provided by Chief Deputy Bill Vallely.
Britt made an appearance before Amite Justice Court Judge Roger Arnold Wednesday, and bond was set at $75,000.
“Centreville Academy was very cooperative in this investigation. We also had assistance from the Mississippi Bureau of Investigations. We will continue with the investigation,” Vallely said.
Britt is no longer employed by Centreville Academy, but school officials would not comment further on the arrest or investigation.
