NATCHEZ — Services for Alcus A. Roberts, 96, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at his residence, will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Dr. Edgar Wright officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until service time Sunday at the funeral home.

Mr. Roberts was born May 27, 1914, in Jeyss, the son of Frank and Sally Green Roberts. He was a member of Morgantown Baptist Church.

Mr. Roberts was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He retired from Keesler Air Force Base after 33 years of civil service. He received a number of awards in the Army and civil service.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Lenna Virginia Roberts; one son, Dorman D. Clark; one grandson, Ronny Clark; one sister, Frank Helen Bradley; and two brothers, J.P. Roberts and Shelby Roberts.

Survivors include one grandson, Kelly Clark of Arizona; three great-grandchildren; one daughter-in-law, Gennye Clark of California; three nieces; and four nephews.

Pallbearers will be Reggie Roberts, Carl Roberts, Dan Moak, Kelley Clarke, Gregory Ketchings and Frank Rhinehart.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Cupit and Herman Eldridge.
