MEMPHIS — Services for Margaret Ann Evans Pittman, 66, of Memphis, who died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at Methodist Germantown Hospital, will be at 4 p.m. today at St. Louis Catholic Church in Memphis with Monsignor John McArthur presiding.

Burial, under the direction of Memphis Funeral Home, will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Natchez City Cemetery, where she will lie in rest in the family plot among six generations.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Monday at the church.

Dr. Pittman was born on Feb. 24, 1944, in Greenville, the daughter of William Leo Evans Jr. and Margaret White Evans.

Dr. Pittman loved life and embraced it to the fullest. Her greatest source of joy came from her family. She died as she lived, as a pillar of strength with grace, dignity, faith and love of family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include two sons, Steven Wayne Pittman and wife, Camille, of Hernando and William Stirling Pittman and wife, Deborah, of Oxford; two daughters Mary Margaret Pittman Graves and husband, Wayne, of Laurel, and Adrienne Elizabeth Pittman Hutton and husband, Mark, of Cordova, Tenn.; eight grandchildren, Lauren Elizabeth Hutton, William Andrew Graves, Meghan Carter Hutton, Sara Ashlee Graves, Amelia Katherine Pittman, Meriweather Evans Pittman, Eloise Camille Pittman and Bryars Margaret Pittman; two step-grandchildren Mallorie Hutton Caradine and Rachel Hutton; one brother, William Leo Evans III of Greenville; and one sister, Dorothy Evans Reichle of Columbus.
