Dr. Iles was true friend to community

The measure of a man: Not how did he die, but how did he live? Not what did he gain, but what did he give?
Those are the units to measure the worth of a man.
Not of birth, not what was his station, but had he a heart?
And how did he play his God-given part?
Was he even ready with a word of good cheer, to bring back a smile to banish a tear?
Not what was his church, nor what was his creed, but had he befriended those really in need?
Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, but how many people were sorry when he passed away?
On Wednesday of last week my entire world crashed upon hearing that my beloved friend and doctor had passed away.
I became a patient of Dr. Jerry W. Iles when he first moved to High Street. And between God and Dr. Iles, I have overcome many a complaint.
Dr. Iles listened to what I had to say, he was interested in how I felt, and he never, never rushed.
He gave me his all and made me feel like I was the only thing that mattered.
And I’m not alone on this; many of his patients agree.
Dr. Jerry W. Iles was compassion!
For 39.5 years he showed me and my family compassion and concern.
To his family, I share your pain and your loss, for he was a beautiful human being.
And I know there are plenty of smiles in heaven today. All the angels know Dr. ILes can fix their bo-bos.
I loved him and will miss him dearly.
