FERRIDAY — Services for Bessie “Jackie” Jones, 87, of Ferriday, who died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Young’s Funeral Home in Ferriday with Waymon Swain officiating.

Burial will follow at Legion Memorials Cemetery in Newellton, La., under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Jones was born Sept. 9, 1922, the daughter of Iler Derrick Albert and Emmie Lou Albert. She was a homemaker and a member of Ferriday Church of Christ.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Buck” Jones; her parents; one son-in-law, Mickey Richards; four brothers; and three sisters.

Survivors include one daughter, Beverly Jones Richards of Clayton; one granddaughter, Misty Richards and fiancé, James Thomas, both of Vidalia; one grandson, Mickey “Rusty” Richards of Clayton; seven great-grandchildren, Mary Smith, Kaylee and Caleb Johnson, Brittani Maynard, Dylan Maynard, Lexi Maynard and Gage Thomas; and one great-great-grandchild, Breylon Smith.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill King, Buddy Durham, Curtis Barker, Mike Barker, JL Barker, Don Tassin and Dr. Huey Moak.
