NATCHEZ — Services for Jerry Gale Buckles, 62, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 2010, at the University Medical Center in Jackson, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Laird Funeral Home Union Street Chapel with Bishop Jeff McClure officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday, both at the funeral home.

Mr. Buckles was born Sept. 30, 1947, in Natchez, the son of Woodrow Darius Buckles Sr. and Corrine Whitehead Buckles. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elsa “Twinkle” Wells Buckles; and one nephew, Billy Coleman.

Survivors include one son, Raymond L. Bishop of Ellisville; two daughters, Nobelle “Sissie” Snow of Smyrna, Tenn., and Lewanna Dunnaway of Brandon; six granddaughters; two brothers, Woodrow Buckles Jr. of Natchez and Gerry D. Buckles of Summit; one sister, Eunice Buckles Coleman of Slidell, La.; and nine nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Raymond Bishop, Woodrow Buckles, Malcolm Joseph, Ed Dunnaway, Nick Shields and Donnie Gregory.

Honorary pallbearers will be David Coleman, Charles Taylor, Bill Welsh, Ed Easton, Tim Blalock, Pat Turner and Dr. Jack Rodriguez.
