NATCHEZ — Services for Sybil A. James, 83, of Natchez, who died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. today at Cliff Temple Baptist Church with the Rev. Russell Wagoner officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. James was born April 12, 1927, in Tomlin, Ark., the daughter of Harold and Lucy Hilliard Worsham. She was a member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed making ceramics. She loved all animals and enjoyed breeding dogs. Her great joy was spending time with her family and watching them grow.

Mrs. James was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Earl Givens; two sisters, Ruby Curtain and Modean Stafford; and two brothers, Harold Worsham and Robert Hilliard.

Survivors include her husband, Rudy James; two sons, Harold Givens and wife, Nancy, of Natchez and William Givens and wife, Pat, of West Helena, Ark.; four stepsons, Williams James of Brandon, Tommy James of Corinth, David James and wife, Debra, of Ripley and Tony James of Biloxi; eight grandchildren, Missy Perkins and husband, Scott, of Batesville, Chris Givens and wife, Tammy, of Benton, Ark., Brandon Givens and fiancé, Devidyal, of Gainesville, Ga., Wade Givens and wife, Abbie, of Starkville, Kristy George and husband, Alan, of Pine Bluff, Ark., Wesley Givens and wife, Kacy, and Katie Folds and husband, Mike, all of Natchez, and Shannon Morrow and husband, Allan, of Vidalia; four step-grandchildren, Chris James of Corinth, Travis James, Paul James and Anna James, all of Biloxi; 18 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Wade Givens, Wesley Givens, Chris Givens, Brandon Givens, Mike Folds and Bill James.

Honorary pallbearers will be Allan Morrow and Scott Perkins.
