FERRIDAY — Services for Oma Jo B. Evans, 70, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at her residence, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou with the Rev. Gary Howington officiating.

Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery in Sicily Island under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Evans was born Feb. 2, 1940, in Claiborne Parish, La., the daughter of Floyd and Mary B. Bridwell. She was a homemaker and a member of Pentecostals of the Miss-Lou in Ferriday. She was a resident of Ferriday for 54 years.

Mrs. Evans was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Janice Liptrap; and three brothers, Lloyd, Sherman and Vernon Bridwell.

Survivors include her husband, Marvin Evans; one daughter, Debbie Roberts and husband, Kenny, of Ferriday; one son, Tony Evans of Ferriday; four sisters, Juanita Johnson of Houston, Texas, Martha Whatley and husband, Johnny, of Jonesville, Mary Jane Phillips of Virginia and Viva Whatley of LaGrange, Ga.; four grandchildren, Krystal Stevens and husband, Bo, of Monterey, Chase Evans and wife, Courtney, Kevin Roberts and wife, Maegan, and Haven Evans, all of Ferriday; four great-grandchildren, Tyler Smith and wife, Tiffany, of Terre Haute, Ind., Justin Stevens, Lexi Stevens, both of Monterey, and Brantley Evans of Ferriday; and one great-great-grandchild, Jordan Smith.

Pallbearers will be Donny Whatley, Jimmy Whatley, Brain Whatley, Mark Evans, Jay Evans and Benny Evans.

Honorary pallbearers will be Chase Evans, Kevin Roberts, Tyler Smith and Justin Stevens.
