NATCHEZ — Services for Hazel Irene Gray June, 85, of Washington, who died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Natchez Regional Medical Center, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Laird Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jeff Brewer officiating.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. Wednesday until service time, both at the funeral home.

Mrs. June was born June 30, 1925, in Natchez, the daughter of Stigler and Reba Gray.

Mrs. June met her husband while he was serving in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was stationed in Centreville. They were married for 58 years until Mr. June’s death Sept. 15, 2001. When you saw one, you saw the other. They were inseparable. She was a devoted wife and mother.

Mr. and Mrs. June were faithful members of Washington Baptist Church. They always said that joining the church was one of the best things they did in life together. After Mr. June died, she moved her letter to Parkway Baptist Church and fell in love with her Sunday school class and sitting next to her beloved friend, Lorraine Havard, during church.

She enjoyed cooking meals for the family. She also loved the day she started fishing with Mr. June. Her favorite hobby was shopping which gave her a chance to get out to talk with her many friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Ralph June Sr.; one daughter, Nancy Irene June Gibbs; and two brothers, Albert Gray and George Gray.

Survivors include two sons, Jimmy June and wife, Peggy, of Lake Concordia and Robert June and wife, Carol, of Woodville; seven grandchildren, Jamie June, Terry Hali, Jeff McMahon, Shannon Netterville, Chris June, Eric June and Scott June: 15 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Valerie Pritchard and Mary Ann King, both of Natchez; and one brother, Paul Gray of Kenner, La.

Pallbearers will be Jamie June, Chris June, Eric June, Scott June, Kaleb June and Doug Netterville Jr.

The family extends a special thanks to Dr. Kenneth Stubbs, Dr. Geoffrey Flattman, the nursing staff at Natchez Regional Medical Center and to everyone for their prayers and visits.
