WOODVILLE – Services for Joyce Marie Ross Trufant, 52, of Woodville, who died Monday, Sept. 20, 2010, at her residence, will be at noon Saturday at Magnolia Baptist Church with the Rev. Harold Smith Sr. officiating.

Burial will follow at Cedar Rest Cemetery No. 2 in Woodville under the direction of Rollins Funeral Home of Woodville.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Trufant was born May 11, 1958, in Natchez, the daughter of Elmo Ross Sr. and Mildred Smith.

She was a graduate of Southern University in Baton Rouge. She was also a Head Start teacher for A.J.F.C. and was a member of Magnolia Baptist Church.

Mrs. Trufant was preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Morris Louis Smith Jr., Mary Ann Smith, George Ross Sr., and Annie Ross; several aunts and uncles.

Survivors include her husband, Rodney Trufant Sr. of New Orleans; parents, Elmo and Mildred Ross Sr.; one son, Rodney Trufant Jr. and wife, Missy, of Denham Springs, La.; two daughters, Bridget Trufant and Kirby Trufant, both of Woodville; one granddaughter, Ryan Trufant; goddaughter, Samantha Booker; one brother, Elmo Ross Jr. and wife, Wanda, both of Woodville; four sisters, Rosetta Scott and husband, Johnnie, both of Dallas, Louise Brown of Woodville, Linda Jarvis and husband, Burnell, both of Forney, Texas and Patricia Booker and husband, Sam, both of Marion, Ark.; four uncles, Rev. Harold Smith Sr. and wife, Ida, both of Ethel, La., Carroll Smith, Tommy Smith and wife, Patsy, and Charles Smith Sr. and wife, Sakina, all of Woodville; three aunts, Doris Letterman and Mary Lee Scott and husband, Leon, all of Baton Rouge and Jannie Williams and husband, Romel Jr., of Woodville; and a number of other relatives and friends.

Pallbearers will be Rodney Trufant Jr., Sam Booker Jr., Elmo Ross Jr., Johnnie Scott, Elmo Ross III, Jacobie Scott, Gregory Wyatt, Claudius Price and Dewayne Adams.

Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Booker Sr., Rodney Trufant Sr., Burnell Jarvis, Tommy Smith Sr., Johnnie Scott and Charles Smith Sr.
