FROGMORE, La. — Services for Noah Hinkston Sr., 72, of Ferriday, who died Thursday, Sept. 30, 2010, at Promise Hospital in Vidalia, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. James Baptist Church with Dr. Dave Mays officiating.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Hinkston was born Aug. 16, 1938, in Frogmore, the son of Sam and Martha White Hinkston.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Irene Carter Hinkston.

Survivors include three sons, Gregory Taylor of Newellton, La., Noah Hinkston Jr. of Oakland, Calif., and James F. Hinkston and wife, Janice, of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Consuella “Connie” Johnson of Berkeley, Calif., and Angela “Nese” Harbor and husband, Michael, of Inglewood, Calif.; three brothers, Joseph Hinkston and wife, Annette Marie, of Ferriday, Henry Hinkston and wife, Willa, of Oakland, Calif., and Booker T. Hinkston of wife, Gloria, of Alexandria, La.; two sisters, Ruthie Mae Sanders and husband, Albert, of Jackson and Eloise Collins of Oakland; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Dave Mays of Jonesville and the Rev. Tom Holly of Long Beach, Calif.; one sister-in-law, Susie B. Hinkston of Alexandria; seven grandsons; four granddaughters; and three aunts.
