Natchez — Services for Joseph Roosevelt “Pete” Adams, 81, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, at his residence, will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Peter Baptist Church.

Burial will follow in Pine Hill Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mr. Adams was born Dec. 2, 1928, in Adams County, the son of Willie Adams and Pearl McGee.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Gertrude Smoot; and one brother, Wilbert Lee Adams.

Survivors include two sisters, Helena Adams and Marguarite Adams; four nieces, Shirley Richardson and husband Sammie, Felecia Adams, Gertrude Garnett, all of Natchez and Debra Pittman and husband Mike of Houston, Texas; two nephews, Gregory Adams and Clarence Adams, both of Natchez; a special cousin, Patsy McGee of Natchez; 11 great-nieces; six great-nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends.
