NATCHEZ — Services for the Rev. Glen Ross “Big Shot” Watkins, 50, of Natchez, who died Monday, Oct. 4, 2010, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial will follow at Skinner Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Rev. Watkins was born Jan. 15, 1960, in Adams County, the son of Major White, Dorothy Mae Ross and Willie Mae Watkins.
He was preceded in death by his mothers; two brothers, Michael Ross and Clifford Ross; grandfather, Willie Ross; and a special cousin, Cleo Smith Thissel.
Survivors include his wife, Leigh Ester Watkins of Irving, Texas; his father of New Orleans; one son, Glen Watkins Jr. of Irving; two sisters, Marilyn Ross Bates of Natchez and Janice Ross of Irving; three brothers, Ronnie Ross and wife, Charmaine, of Orlando, Fla., Vincent Ross of Irving and Arthur Ross and wife, Ann, of Natchez; a number of other brothers and sisters; two aunts, Juanita Byrd Harris and Ruby Washington, both of Natchez; four special cousins, Ghitiana Otis and wife, Dannie, of Shreveport, La., Lavera Green and husband, Vincent, Debra Harris-Minor and husband, Michael, all of Natchez, and Anthony Harris and wife, Frankie, of Hattiesburg; a special sister-in-law, Debra Ross; and a number of other relatives and friends.
