Fayette Marsaw

NATCHEZ — Services for Fayette Marsaw, 78, of Natchez, who died Thursday, Oct. 14, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Dan Alexander officiating.

Burial will follow at Painters Cemetery under the direction of Bateaste Memorial Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Marsaw was the son of Levi and Alberta Marsaw. He was employed by International Paper Company and retired from Holsum Bakery. He served as a deacon at True Love Missionary Baptist Church until his health began to decline.

Fayette enjoyed cooking and was well known for his homemade biscuits.

He was preceded in death by his parents; five siblings, Sam Marsaw, Cordelia Griffin, Robert Marsaw and Ameal Griffin.

His brother Levi Marsaw III died one day after Fayette.

Survivors include four children, Michael, Brenda, Charles and Eunice “Mona”; two brothers, Roosevelt and Henry Lee Marsaw; two sisters, Martha Cain and Martha McKnight; and three aunts, Celia “Kootzie” Williams, Martha Mitchell and Dorothy Camper.

Pallbearers will be family members.
