LARTO, La. — Services for Irving Hickman Bordelon, 84, of Jonesville, La., who died Thursday, Oct. 21, 2010, at Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria, La., will be at 12:30 p.m. today at Larto Apostolic Church with the Rev. Cecil Grantham, the Rev. Mark Rutland and the Rev. Christopher Lucas officiating.

Burial will follow at Peas Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until service time today at the church.

Mr. Bordelon was born Nov. 20, 1925, in Simsport, La., the son of Hickman and Josephine Bordelon. He was a commercial fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Delton Bordelon; and one sister, Mavis White.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Verbia Bordelon; five sons, Carlos Sanders and Donnie Sanders, both of Larto, Bernell Wiley and wife, Mattilla, of Effie, La., Alvin Yates and wife, Arlene, of Houma, La., and Ray Yates of Atlanta; four daughters, Melbia Wiley and husband, Ray, of Deville, La., Phyllis Wiley and husband, Marcus, of Arkansas, Angie Lucas and husband, Donnie, of Larto and Jane Odgen of Utah; three brothers, Henry Bordelon of South Carolina, Bobby Bordelon of Arkansas and Hilton Bordelon of Georgia; two sisters, Eunice Cherry and Rose Femster, both of South Carolina; 10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
