Mary Dunlap

WOODVILLE — Services for Mary Seal Dunlap, 91, of Woodville, who died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at her residence, will be at 11 a.m. today at Woodville United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Ray Branch, Rev. Will Dowling and Rev. Patrick Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery under the direction of Newman Funeral home.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time at the church.

Mrs. Dunlap was born Jan. 5, 1919, in McComb, the daughter of Ralph and Mary Matthews.

After graduating from Louisiana Tech University and earning her degree in home economics, she married Charles Lee Seal of Sicily Island, La., in August 1941.

She was a member of Woodville United Methodist Church and served as secretary at Seal Tractor Company, the family business, for many years. She was a member of the Junior Irwin Russell Club and a member of the Eastern Star for a number of years.

She loved her family and friends and had a great love for animals, particularly her beloved cat, Cleo, who followed her every step.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Charles Lee Seal; her second husband, Sam Finley Dunlap, who she married in 1979; and one brother, Ralph Luis Matthews.

Survivors include one son, Stephen Seal and his wife Edine; one daughter, Mary Ann Carter and her husband Danny; two step-daughters, India Carroll and her husband Danny and Lesa Cutler and her husband David; seven grandchildren, Charles Seal, Wil Seal, Laura and Tim Lindsey, David Carter, Carrie Cutler, Dane Cutler and Carter Carroll; and 10 great grandchildren.

The family would like to extend special thanks to her doctors, nurses, caregivers and friends for their loving kindness during her illness.

Pallbearers will be Charles Seal, Wil Seal, David Carter, Tim Lindsey, Billy Prescott and Bobby Prescott.

Memorials may be made to the Woodville United Methodist Church, Wilkinson County Christian Academy or the Natchez-Adams County Humane Society.
