New ‘Natchez’ magazine set to launch soon

NATCHEZ — Inside today’s edition, readers will get a small taste — an appetizer if you will — of a new local lifestyle magazine that will debut in a few weeks.
A 16-page preview of Natchez the Magazine provides a few examples of what the first 100-page edition will include when it is published in mid-November.
“We hope the preview whets your appetite for the full meal ahead,” Publisher Kevin Cooper said.
The magazine will be published six times each year.
Each issue of Natchez the Magazine will include departments featuring:
Articles on the community’s most interesting people, places and things.
Sneak peeks inside some of the area’s best homes.
Examples of great area shopping finds.
Articles and recipes from local chefs and restaurant owners.
A series of articles on “Why I love Natchez” in which our staff interviews a local person about their favorite things about the area.
Natchez Scene photographs from area social events.
Interesting looking back articles and photographs from our area’s history and more.
Launching the magazine is something that has been considered for years, Cooper said.
“We really see a need for this in our community,” he said. “The nature of the newspaper is that we have to print all the news, good and bad.
“The magazine will allow us to focus our abilities on telling even more of the positive stories about what we view as one of the greatest places on earth — Natchez.
“Positive articles in the newspaper can be quickly forgotten as news is somewhat disposable.
“We hope the magazine helps give all the great things in our community just a little more attention and in a way that lingers on the coffee tables of residents and the minds of visitors.”
Subscriptions will be sold at $18 for one year and $24 for two years. Subscriptions can be purchased online at: Natchez the Magazine
