NATCHEZ — Services for Alberta Hence “Sis” Watkins, 81, of Natchez, who died Saturday, Nov. 6, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital, will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Christian Hope Baptist Church with the Rev. John Scott Jr. officiating.

Burial will follow at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Robert D. Mackel and Sons Funeral Home.

Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home and from 10 a.m. until service time Friday at the church.

Mrs. Watkins was born Dec. 6, 1931, in Natchez, the daughter of Hiram Hence and Celia Morris. She attended Brumfield High School. She was employed as a domestic worker and a sales clerk with Georgia’s and Ullman’s clothing stores in Natchez before her retirement. She was a member of the American Legion Post No. 228.

Mrs. Watkins was a member of Christian Hope Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Theodore Watkins; four brothers, Karl Henry Latham, James Hence, Hiram J. Hence and Charles Morris; and two sisters, Serena “Irene” Murphy and Edith Hence.

Survivors include two sisters, Elsie Hence and Delores Bassett, both of Natchez; a loving and devoted friend, John Turner of Vidalia; two stepdaughters, Mary Bailey of Jackson and Delores Dobbins of Natchez; one stepson, Theodore Hardin of Natchez; one aunt, Helen Curtis of Natchez; 13 nieces; nine nephews; and a number of great-great-nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
