NATCHEZ — Fred David Forrest Sr. died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at Natchez Community Hospital.

Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Greenlawn Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Dan Wynn officiating.

Burial will follow under the direction of Comer Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Natchez.

Dave was born March 5, 1958, in McComb, the son of the Rev. John David Forrest Sr. and Frances Storm Forrest.

Dave was a loving and devoted husband. Those who knew him were encouraged by his faith in God and his optimistic view of life. He was very caring, kind and generous. He loved a good joke and he never met a stranger. A favorite activity of his was being one of Santa’s helpers by welcoming customers and giving Cracker Jacks at the day after Thanksgiving sales at the Natchez Mall. He had a remarkable gift of woodworking and repairing refrigeration.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Natchez. He worked for Coca Cola and Pepsi Companies in McComb and Coca Cola Company in Natchez. He was an avid collector of Coke memorabilia.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother, John David Forrest Jr.

He is survived by his wife, Diane; five sons, Jason McCoy and fiancée, Lauren DeLee, both of Vicksburg, David Forrest Jr. and wife, Tina, of Flowood, John Forrest and wife, Meagan, of Canton, Eric Forrest and wife, Jessica, of Madison and Daniel Forrest of Meadville; three grandchildren, Aiden Forrest, Jordan Cothern and Kendall Forrest; father and mother-in-law, Forest and Barbara Persons; aunts, cousins and friends; special friends, Tony Rachel and Pearl Watkins; and his constant companion, his dog Snoopy.
