FERRIDAY — Services for Rosie Ellis, 79, of Ferriday, who died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at Camelot Leisure Living Home in Ferriday, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Beulah Baptist Church with the Rev. Eugene Williams officiating.

Burial will follow at Ferriday Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home in Ferriday.

Visitation will be from 6 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. Ellis was born May 3, 1931, in Ferriday, the daughter of William and Corrine Simmons Graham. She was a retired nurse’s aide.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Willie “Vic” Graham; two sisters, Sadie Graham Hollins and Estella Graham; and stepmother who raised her, Sadie Graham.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Ellis; three sons, David Ellis Jr. and wife, Laverne, William Ellis and wife, Karen, all of Flint, Mich., and Kenneth Ellis and wife, Lisa, of Hattiesburg; five daughters, Marrion Banks of Dallas, Shirley Taylor and husband, Willie, of New Orleans, Glenda Taylor and husband, David, of Nashville, Tenn., Betty Washington and husband, Curtis, of Thibodaux, La., and Joyce Brown of LaPlace, La.; two brothers, Edward Graham and wife, Nana, of Flint and Leo Graham Sr. of Monroe, La.; two sisters, Mary Graham of Ferriday and Julia Graham-Jolla of New Orleans; one granddaughter she raised, Shanitha Smith of Atlanta; 13 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law, Elaine Graham of Natchez.
