NATCHEZ — Services for Donald Edwin Byrne Sr., 80, of Natchez, who died Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at peace in his home after a lengthy illness, will be at 1 p.m. Friday at New Covenant Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Dennis Flach officiating.
Burial will follow at the Natchez City Cemetery under the direction of Laird Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from noon until service time Friday at the church.
Mr. Byrne was born Aug. 17, 1930, in Natchez, the son of Edwin John Byrne and Ilene Ormsby Byrne. He was a lifelong resident of Natchez. He owned and operated Byrne Furniture and Sawmill Services and was Elder Emeritus of New Covenant Presbyterian Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara Byrne; one son, Mike Byrne; and one sister, Ilene Parker.
Survivors include six children, Susan Byrne of Houston, Texas, Jane Byrne of Baton Rouge, Peggy Byrne of Lafayette, La., Shirley Byrne and Joseph Byrne, both of Natchez, and Donald Byrne Jr. and wife, Renee, of Senatobia; one daughter-in-law, Anna Byrne of Natchez; five grandchildren, Jeanette Britt and husband, Adrian, Michael Byrne Jr. and fiancée, Samantha Barnes, Kaitlyn Byrne, Rebecca Byrne and Eric Byrne and Kelsie Ward; three great-grandchildren, Anna Grace Britt, Joshua Britt and Trey Byrne; one sister, Eleanor Merrill of Longboat Key, Fla.; and one brother, Richard Byrne of Crockett, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Michael Byrne Jr., Eric Byrne, Adrian Britt, Chris Edwards, Byrne Edwards and James Clower.
