ACCS has easy time with Amite School Center

LIBERTY — The Adams County Christian Lady Rebels had no problems with Amite School Center on Thursday night, hammering ASC 59-28.

The Lady Rebels led 24-4 after just one quarter of play and took a 40-8 lead into halftime.

ACCS let up on the gas in the second half, as coach Melanie Hall emptied her bench and let some younger players play in the blowout win.

Taylor Welch led the Lady Rebels in scoring with 22 points while Brandis White scored 15 and Braxtyn Elveston tallied eight.

Demi Reynolds led Amite School Center with 13 points in the loss.

ACCS improved its overall record to 8-2 on the season.

ACCS boys 77, Amite School Center 51

The Adams County Christian boys improved their record to 5-3 on the season with a 26-point win over Amite School Center.

The game was close for a half, as ACCS couldn’t shake the pesky homestanding Rebels.

ACCS took a 22-15 lead after one quarter, but Amite School Center hung with them and the visiting Rebels led just 35-28 at halftime.

However, ACCS pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring ASC 25-16 to take a 19-point lead into the fourth quarter.

They continued to put distance on Amite in the final period, outscoring them 17-10 to take the easy victory.

Daniel Guedon led ACCS with 23 points while James Moffett scored 16 and Brandon Walker chipped in with 10 points in the win.

Amite School Center was led by Trevor Coleman with 17 points.

The ACCS girls and boys teams will next play at Central Private next Tuesday, with four games starting at 4 p.m.
