MEADVILLE — Services for Janice Kaye “Shorty” Picket Murray, 63, of Smithdale, who died Tuesday, Dec. 14, 2010, at Southwest Medical Center in McComb, will be at 2 p.m. today at Mount Zion Baptist Church.

Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home in Bude.

Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the church.

Mrs. Murray was born June 19, 1947, in Natchez, the daughter of Elton Bennett Pickett and Vera Beatrice Myers Pickett.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, James Christopher Allen Jr.

Survivors include a loving and devoted husband, James “Tommy” Murray; one daughter, Kay Lynn Allen; one son, Thomas Murray; one grandson, Williams James Allen; three brothers, Elton Pickett, Phillip Pickett and Richard Pickett; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
