MONTEREY — Services for Linda Joyce Milam, 68, of Monterey, who died Friday, 24, 2010, at Promise Specialty hospital of Miss-Lou in Vidalia, will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Monterey First Baptist Church with Bro. Roger Whittington officiating.

Burial will follow at Monterey Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home.

Visitation is from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Monterey First Baptist Church.

Milam was born on April 1, 1942, in Bennington Okla., the daughter of Adell and Ola Mae Chandler.

Milam was a resident of Monterey, worked for Walmart a greeter in the Garden Center and was an active member of Monterey First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lee Roy Chandler; and two sisters, Mary Kay Varcoe and Kaye Kaustinen.

Survivors include her husband of 51 years, Burl Milam; one daughter, Cristi Milam of Grand Prairie, Texas; two granddaughters, Amelye Milam and Alexandra Milam, both of Grand Prairie; two brothers, Charles Chandler of Green Bay, Wis., and Dennis Chandler of Zion, Ill.; four sisters, Verna Stallcup of Wichita Falls, Texas, Ann Thomas of Desoto, Texas, Betty Lee of Longview, Texas, and Barbara Brackett of Oklahoma; sister-in-law Betty Chandler of Bennington, Okla.; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pallbearers will be Dick Young, Ernest Wilson, Lamon Woodruff, Nolan Tiffee, Ricky Bryan and Tom Henslee.

Honorary pallbearers will be J.R. Kelley and Ray Book.
